Hello creative friends, I’m super excited to introduce you to the Twelve Stones Scrapbooking Creative Team!! These beautiful ladies are already near and dear to my heart. I hope that you will follow them on Instagram to both encourage them and be inspired by them.
Deirdre is a fun-loving, God-fearing wife and homeschool mama with 4 children, ages 2-12. Being the extrovert she is, her biggest “filler-upper” comes from connecting with people whether it be at home teaching, at youth group with teen girls, or helping to lead musical worship at her local church. Her strongest spiritual gift is the gift of encouragement. Being blessed in this way has motivated her to explore various avenues of reaching people creatively such as, card-making and posting short devotionals on Instagram.
Deirdre’s joy over people and creativity began over a decade ago, while working for her sister as a graphic designer. While using programs like Adobe Photoshop and Qwark Express, she created logos and designed trifolds, billboard signs, and flyers for 240+ real estate agents. More recently, her digital design was employed by Life Choices Center in Binghamton, NY. Most recently, Deirdre became inspired to use her artistry in another way after seeing her own sister’s Bible art; and, in the summer of 2016, she joined the bible journaling community.
While dabbling in “fauxligraphy,” and experimenting with fineliner pens, paints, colored pencils, washi-tape, and other media. she became overjoyed to learn that her journey with God and His Word deepened through artistic expression! The world of creativity continued to unfold more and more each day! Deirdre’s passion has evolved into encouraging others to share and document their unique journey with God. Instagram has become one of the platforms through which she’s connected with and inspired many to go deeper with their Creator. It’s also one of the places she will continue to share her own journey of creativity and love for the Lord, while designing with Marjolaine Walker’s (@marjolaine.walker and @twelvestonesscrapbooking) stencils and printables.
“My creative journey isn’t long (so far), but it started when I was young; I’d make things for my Barbie dolls and paint all the things. My room quickly became the place to display all my new creations. As the years went on I became blinded by comparison of what God had given me.
I envied those who could stand up in front of people and talk about how great God is. I wanted to lead others to Christ, but I could barely stand in front of my class at school without shaking and forgetting everything. I thought that the ONLY way others would see Jesus through me was if I told them face to face about Him.
But a little over two years ago I got my first journaling bible and I realized that God gave me a creative mind to grow closer to Him and shine His glory. That’s when I started using the gift of creativity He gave me for for His glory instead of trying to be better than someone.
I’m only sixteen, so I’m still figuring this whole life thing out, but I love that I can document my creative journey as I grow in Jesus, trust Him more, and live out His word. “
I’m Ann Marie. I’m a wife, mom of 3 boys, cat lover, full time case manager, worship leader, and lover of Jesus!
Life is full! A couple years ago, I found bible journaling, and it has completely changed my time in the Word. I wanted to read my bible, but wasn’t all that motivated. The highlighting and doodling got my attention! I was never particularly crafty or artistic before, but I’ve tried lots of new things on my bible pages since. I have found that I spend more time reflecting on what I’ve read, and actually remembering it better when I am illustrating on those pages. You can follow my journey on Instagram @luckowfam
Hi, I’m Andi! Let me start by telling you how unbelievably excited and honored I am to be here! I am a 30-something living in the Sweet Carolinas. I call Charlotte home these days and am the fur-mama to my sassy rescue kitty, Savannah. I’ve always been creative by nature ( I get it from my Mama who is an interior designer). I dabbled with 2D, 3D, Sculpture and Photography in High School. In College, I strayed from these roots, but my senior year fell in love with sewing in my Apparel Design class. After college, I continued to craft but definitely took a bit of a hiatus from art. Fast –forward 10-ish years. I was hunting on Pinterest for a bible cover sewing pattern and stumbled across Bible Journaling. I had never heard of it before! In February 2016 I started my official journey with Bible Journaling, and have never looked back. I love being able to marry creativity with faith, and have learned more in my bible study over the past year and a half than I had in my lifetime. I now crave being in the word, and love this little community of ours. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my faith and my story with this tribe. xoxo.
My love of color began as a young girl and continued into college where I majored in Interior Design and found I loved combining space planning and color. Over the years I’ve used these two interests on various platforms ~ through scrapbooking where
I was a Creative Memories Consultant and led workshops for 10 years and through cardmaking as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator for 5 years. Later when my children were homeschooling I shared my love for color and creativity with the young children in our co-op by teaching art classes.
And in more recent years I have been using the Bible as my canvas for creativity through Bible Art Journaling. Because I don’t really draw, I have enjoyed combining paint and printables. God has once again given me the opportunity to teach through Bible Journaling workshops at Lifeway Christian Bookstore, in my home and at women’s retreats.
Kerrin lives in the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada with her supportive husband and incredible daughter. She cherishes the slower paced life their little town brings and is grateful to be a stay-at-home-mum as her husband travels a significant amount of time with work.
Kerrin discovered her creative soul almost 15 years ago. Since then she has found joy in all things scrapbooking, card making, and most recently, bible journaling. Creativity really isn’t just her hobby; it is a way of life. She has a passion and dedication for helping other women discover their own creative talents. You can find Kerrin most days in her sun-filled studio with the family’s retired greyhound learning and growing on her own creative journey. She enthusiastically passes all that learning forward in the bible journaling classes she teaches on a regular basis.
I grew up in small town, central Alberta. I spent most of my homeschooled childhood either in the library where my mother worked or creating a project with my grandmother. As a result I inherited my mother’s bookwormish nature and my grandmothers love of creating something beautiful with her hands. I grew up attending mass several times a year, but had little other influence of faith. As a preteen, a friend from the homeschool community invited me to a church youth group which is where I eventually gave my life to God. Though I loved God, as I got older I struggled to see Him in the church and so I sought him elsewhere in other religions. But God is faithful, He continues to call. A decade later I received an invite to church from my then best friend, now husband. Through that season, God challenged everything I had placed my identity in, other than Him. He called me back to Himself and in the process reminded me of my true identity; loved, redeemed, forgiven, and the daughter of the King. He renewed a hunger within me, to be in His word and better understand His heart. But I also found myself struggling, I didn’t really know how to read the Bible, or what to meditate on. But He had a plan all along. When I came across Bible art journaling it reignited a truth in me, that our Creator created us to be creative. I love this artistic outlet that for me has allowed God’s word to connect and resonate so much more deeply in my heart. Art -like life- is a messy, chaotic, and perfectly beautiful paradox. And I love to find myself sitting with God, right in the midst of it.
