His Kingdom Come Blog Hop

Today we are celebrating the launch of a brand new online Christian Creative Community: His Kingdom Come.

Blog hop

This is an online Community where fellow Christians can encourage, share and learn about Christianity and explore the God-given creativity that he has put in us all.  It will be a safe place to share your faith, be inspired, and explore creativity across many art mediums – journaling, mixed media, painting, bible journaling, textiles, watercolor and more.

His Kingdom Come will offer free tutorials, technique classes, devotionals, crafts to celebrate the holidays, opportunities to go deeper in your faith and in your knowledge of God and the Bible.  The website will also offer Christian artists a platform to host classes (free or fee-based) which you will be able to sign up for.

A team of talented Christian artists have come together to launch this exciting new community. This blog hop is your chance to get to know them.

It doesn’t matter where you start within the blog hop.   Or you can start at the beginning with Diane.  Each blog will have the complete list of participants.

Diane Marra

Bernice Hopper

Mary Brack

Marjolaine Walker

Merri Dennis

Justine Dandrea

Libbi Byrd Corson

Anita Van Hal

Shonna Bucaroff

As you visit each blog you will be given a letter eg. D.   When you have collected all the letters they will make a word.  When you have worked out the word email Bernice at hkcbloghop@gmail.com  with the word.  We will randomly choose 3 people who have the correct answer to win a prize.  All entries must arrive by Noon (Pacific time) on Monday 3rd November.

The letter to collect from my blog is Y

Here are the prizes,

Let me introduce myself:

Brief Bio

I am a stay at home mom to four children, three daughters who are 15, 13 and 6 years old and a son who is 8. I have been married to my best friend for 18 years and we  live in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada.  I own a scrapbooking/mixed media store that I travel with to area events. I also teach mixed media classes and spend a lot of time doing design work. I have been a believer since I was a child but  became a follower and true disciple of Jesus 18 years ago. My greatest passion is to see people set free of all that is holding them back, something that I believe can only happen through a close relationship with Jesus.

How does your faith impact your creativity?
I usually pray when I create art. I try to put on canvas what I believe the Holy Spirit is saying to me. I admit I too often get frustrated because the piece does not resemble what I was seeing in my head. My art usually has a much deeper meaning than what people might see on the canvas. My greatest desire where my art is concerned is that it would move people deeply and bring them closer to the heart of God.

What is your preferred medium of creativity?

I love mixed media…collage, ink, paint, stamps, stencils, found object and more!

Deliverance1

What areas of creativity do you dabble in?

Mixed media,  art journaling, junk journals, mini albums, scrapbooking and digital art.

What is your role within the His Kingdom Come team?

I’m the moderator leader and presently searching for people to add to the team. I’m also hosting the mixed media group.

What are your hopes for this new community?

I’m hoping for a safe community where  people can share their creative life without fear of not measuring up, somewhere where we can all be encouraged. I also hope it’s a place where we can build meaningful relationships with each other.

I’ve enjoyed reading your post, but what really got me was at the end. “Believe you are good enough” This is something I have been struggling with, particularly this past year. Thank you.

It is such a joy getting to know you better….and all that you do.
You have such beautiful artwork! I giggled when I read that some of your projects don’t come out the way you envisioned them in your head – I have the same problem!
Thanks for being a part of His Kingdom Come
    Blessings,
    Debbie

Oh my goodness, I loved reading your post and can relate so much to the sentiment at the end. I have always struggled with feeling “less than”. I am so excited to be part of this new community where its roots are grounded in faith and offers positive encouragement. Blessings, Linda Hardesty

Yeah! You’re Canadian and from Ottawa. I became a Christian in Ottawa and lived there for 6 1/2 years. I used to go to New Life Christian Centre before it closed down and then I congregated at West Ottawa. Now I’m a missionary with YWAM in Brazil and have been for 12 years. I’m also a blogger on WordPress. It’s the way that I believe God has given me to read out to others through my poetry and song writing, and recently I’ve been itching at trying my take at mixed media and photography. Soooooo awesome that you do that, and even have a store of that. I’m looking forward to this group, and hope that I’ll have the time and ability to get into it.
    🙂
