Hello creative friends,

Change has been an important word for me this year. In order to be all that God intends me to be I must change. In my business I have been letting go of everything that doesn’t fit directly into my goals and what I know I’m suppose to do. I’ve been letting go of all the things that I was doing to make myself feel important and successful. I had many creative dreams on my bucket list but as they began to happen I realized that it wasn’t that exciting after all.  It’s been difficult to let go at times. I miss working with certain people and I miss being part of different communities but it also removes a lot of stress from my life and gives me more time for what is really important. I so desperately wanted to be known in the creative industry. Yes, perhaps I even secretely wanted to be famous. I thought that working for certain companies or being featured in my favourite magazines and even being on tv would somehow make me important in the eyes of the creative world. I was very wrong. Yes it’s been fun at times but the more I find success in this, the less I care. It’s not that I don’t want any of it but my motives have changed more than ever this year. My passion has always been that through my creativity I could help you find freedom. To do that I need more time with you. I want to encourage you, I want to help you be the person that God created  you to be. I desire that more than fame and for it to happen, change is necessary. I also need more time to grow in the gifts that God has given me. It’s difficult to grow in one area if you are consonantly being distracted by one creative endeavor or another.

As I type this post a song keeps playing in my mind. It’s called He Knows my Name and it says “I don’t need my name in lights, I’m famous in my father’s eyes. Make no mistake He knows my name” I want to leave you today with that song, I hope that those words would go deep into your heart. He knows your name and there’s nothing better than being known by God who created you.
