Freedom Friday-I AM a Conqueror

Hello creative friend!
This is week thirteen of twenty in my Freedom Friday posts on Identity in Christ. These blog posts are based on my I Am Journal and I hope you are joining me on this journey whether you own the journal or not.
Our truth topic today is: I am more than a conqueror!

To be “more than a conqueror” means that I am OVERWHELMINGLY VICTORIOUS OVER MY ENEMY. Is this the case in your life or do you drag yourself around all day feeling defeated? Are you winning or losing at life? There is only one way that you can be defeated and that is by being separated from the love of Jesus which by the way, according to Romans 8 is totally impossible because “who can separate you from the love of Christ?” neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So I guess that pretty much covers it!

If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom. 8:31–39)

Now, I’m not a Greek scholar by any stretch of the imagination but a quick glance at the Greek meaning for more than a conqueror and I see words like “to gain a SURPASSING victory”, “to prevail COMPLETELY or MIGHTILY” and “to vanquish beyond, i.e. Gain a decisive victory ” “exceedingly conquer, being a “super-conqueror” who is “completely and overwhelmingly victorious” Friends, this is an absolute conquest and certainly not merely getting by and surviving! This is the kind of victory that has you celebrating and dancing with joy! This my friend is not referring to a narrow escape from disaster or barely getting out by the skin of your teeth!
In Christ, you are a vanquisher, a winner, a victor and a defeater!

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, it all starts in your mind! That is why it’s so important to have a renewed mind and to think like Jesus thinks! If you think like a victim, you will act like a victim, guaranteed. If you think defeating thoughts, defeated actions will follow. Filling your mind with negative and depressing thoughts invites much of the same to your life. If you see yourself as a victim, you invite further victimization to come. You feel powerless to stop abuse because you don’t think that you deserve better. If you believe that your prison bars are impossible to breakthrough, you won’t even try. I heard it said once that if a thought holds no hope in it, then is it not from God because His thoughts always have hope. If hopeless thoughts come into your mind, you must be ruthless with it and tell it to go! Have no mercy with this friend, hopeless thoughts must be rejected and they have to go! For many months now I have been researching and praying about things related to a victim mindset. From there I have asked the Lord to point out areas where I have a victim mindset. I can say that I have been experiencing more victory than I have ever before.

Are you always waiting for the other shoe to drop? Are you convinced that nothing will ever change? Do you feel like the universe is out to get you? Is your go to mindset to blame and make excuses instead of asking God for victorious solutions? Are you full of self-pity and think your problems are the biggest in the whole world?
You are more than a conqueror…and if God said it, then it’s true. Period.

You are an overcomer, a champion and a victor. If your thoughts don’t line up with that, reject them. The more you fill your head with lies, the more defeated you become. Tweet That!

You are a force to be reckoned with because you have Jesus and His power living inside of you. No enemy can prevail against that!
Stop living in the past. Stop thinking that because you failed before that you are destined to fail forever. Stop thinking that things will never change. You are not a victim. You are OVERWHELMING VICTORIOUS through Jesus!!!
God sees you this way so you should too!

“God didn’t put you on this earth to mope around all depressed and defeated. He created you to have a victorious and abundant life through His son Jesus.”
