Hello Creative friends! I hope you are finding time to be crafty or artsy today. This project is simple to make and I think it will be a nice gift to give if ever I decide that I can part with it!
I started off with a corrugated sheet of cardstock fitted to the size of the book I wanted to alter.
I randomly painted it with black gesso, leaving some areas bare.
Next I smeared 3 colors of paint, again randomly. I dried the paint between coats with a heat tool.
I adhered the dry/painted corrugated sheet to the book with ZipDry Adhesive.
I painted theĀ chipboard with black gesso followed by a layer of burnt umber mixed with yellow.
I wasn’t satisfied with how it looked so I added a layer of gold paint.
Once dry I finished the pieces off with a layer of crackle medium.
I stamped a ripped piece of tag and used antiquing cream to make it look old and worn.
With all my elements ready I assemble everything on the cover of my journal using ZipDry to keep it all in place.
The products I used in this post were given to me by: DecoArt (Media) Gina’s Designs (Chipboard) Stampendous (Stamp) Little Birdie (Flowers) Beacon Adhesive (ZipDry) MD Hobby and Craft (Chicken Wire) Avery (Tag)
Have a great day being your awesome self and make time for what you love!
