My One Word for 2015

Hello creative friends,  it’s May already and I haven’t fully shared about my one word for this year so today is the day! My word for this year is RESTORE.

Rebuilding the ancient ruins

RESTORE:  to bring back into existence,  reestablish, to bring back to it’s former original condition, to bring back to a state of health, soundness, or vigor, to put back to a former place or position, rank, etc, make return or restitution of anything taken away or lost, to reproduce or reconstruct in the original state, to return to original condition, give something previously stolen, taken away, or lost back to the original owner or recipient.

The word REBUILD was coming to mind as well when I was praying about my word. It’s a synonym of restore as are bring back, build up, improve, reconstruct, recover, rehabilitate, renew, reinforce, rescue, repair, strengthen, etc…

REBUILD: build something again after it has been damaged or destroyed

The enemy seeks to damage and destroy but God seeks to restore our broken lives back to the way He created us. I have experienced great damage and destruction in my life but I have been restored and set free.

This word was not a surprise to me. Back in January 2004 I believe the Lord told me He wanted to use me to help restore the lives of His people. It was at that time that He had begun restoring mine. My life had be shattered and He lovingly started putting me back together by healing the parts of me that were broken. It was the beginning of my healing journey and He began to restore me physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

It’s now my turn to give back and be used by God to bring healing and restoration to others. (As I continue to seek Him in my own healing journey) After waiting 11 long years I finally entered a season in my life where I could receive proper training and I now have the privilege of walking with others through their painful journeys. There’s nothing more fulfilling than to walk in the calling that God has for you. This is what I was made for and I have never felt more alive and more at the center of His will than I do now. This is not just my word for this year, this is the call of my life.

The bible verse that the Lord gave me with the word RESTORE is Isaiah 61-4. This verse is part of my life verse which is most of Isaiah 61. It’s what I was created to do.

Isaiah 61:4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago.
They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations.

It is my deepest desire that your life would be restored so that you can become what you were created to be. Free from everything that holds you back, the pain, the shame, the bitterness, the despair, the depression etc… The baggage that you carry around is heavy and it makes it very difficult for you to fly and be free. I am praying for you, I pray that you would know the truth and that the truth would set you free. (John 8:32) You were created for more. You were created with a purpose, there’s a reason why you’re on this earth. I pray that you would be set free from the chains that are holding you captive.

I love you and my heart breaks for you, it doesn’t have to be this way. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM! (2 Corinthians 3:17)

Praying that you would find freedom to be who you were created to be,

Creatively yours in Christ,

Marjolaine
