Hello blogger friends!
For today’s post I am showing you a layout that I made for one of Scrapping Everyday Miracles monthly challenges. The layout had to be about a favourite vacation and needed to have some stenciling or masking on it. My first thought was “I don’t want to do Disney!!! I really wanted to reminisce about a peaceful vacation so I went back to 2010 to find a romantic getaway to California. My husband and I were so blessed, the whole vacation was paid for and we got to experience the best at no cost to us. I don’t think we have ever been that relaxed on any other trip!
For the masking part of the challenge I used my little clouds and inked around them on the page. It didn’t start that way. Let’s just say that this is page #2!
If you’re wondering about the title I can’t blame you, it’s kind of ….different! I looked for another word to describe honeymoon and that is what I got! It was a lot like a honeymoon except we had four kids waiting for us at home. Besides riding a bicycle built for two we got strangers to take our picture at the beach while pretending to get married again…cheesy I know but I couldn’t help it, the beach wedding arch was calling our name!
ScrapFit has a challenge this month to add doodles to your layout. Doodles scare me (especially on a layout!) but I decided to give it a try. Once I started doodling I couldn’t stop, I got carried away. (it happens sometimes!)
Lastly, the sketch for this layout came from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

Sometimes being “told” what to do makes it easy, and sometimes not. Whichever the case in your craft room and with this layout, the outcome is amazing! And, how nice that you took a moment from your life as a couple to make this vacation layout. I love the smallest of details you created. Well done, Marjolaine! Well done!
Love this, even if it is page 2, lol. It’s so important for us to take time to get away just the 2 of us. It’s what keeps life worth all the stress, and work of having children. Thanks for playing along with us at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. Looking forward to more chit chat in the Green Room.
