Why Waste Wednesday

For those of you who are new to Why Waste Wednesday, this is where I post a project using only scraps and/or product that has been taking up space in my studio for way too long! I truly hate wasting so I tend to keep every little scrap from my numerous projects. Combine that with the fact that I had a bad habit of not  finishing what I started and you have a colossal mess! Lately, in combination with using scraps I’m also completing unfinished layouts and getting them into albums.  After one month of doing this once (or twice) a week, I now have one empty bin! (12×12 bin about three inches high) What a great feeling it is to have that mountain of a pile shrinking. I will need to buy new albums because the ones I have are filing up fast.

!For this layout I used a variety of small scraps from a stash of favourite patterns. The letters I used for the title were new but never used from a long time ago. The cardstock is very bright and shiny and was not what I had in mind when I ordered it so I want to find ways of depleting the stack of it. I added some left-over ribbon and chipboard to finish it off. I adapted a sketch from one of my Scrapbook Generation books, made my layout vertical so I could use those photos. I have to say that doing my journaling with my own hand-writing has been so freeing. Not to say that I suddenly like my hand-writing (cuz I don’t) but I just get it done so much faster. No more bins of layouts just waiting for me to sit at the computer to type out the journaling. Besides, I’m really getting into art journaling so it’s really time to get over my need for and obsession for cool fonts! I can satisfy that need with digital art!
