Word Art

Hello fellow bloggers, I’ve been practicing my art journaling skills and I’m back with a page inspired by the Word Art at Word Art Wednesday.

This page started with a spray ink disaster, no surprise there! If you’ve been reading my blog you know that I’m a newbie at art journaling and I especially struggle with the sprays! To cover up the mess I used some book text and masking tape (my new favourite!) I then added lots of paint, stamps and scraps of paper to further cover up and add texture. If you look carefully, you will see that I used the bottom of a flip flop again to add the stripy pattern.

I found this really cool heart on my desk. I made it last January in a workshop and although I can’t tell you how I made it I plan on refreshing my memory on how to make it. I’ll keep you posted!
I used a black big brush marker to shade around the heart. I love how it made it look 3-D, it’s mod podged right on the page but it doesn’t look that way.
The word JOY is stamped with one of my favourite stamp collections. It was designed by me and I had it made into a stamp. (along with all the other fruit of the Spirit…)

If you have been wanting to try art journaling, I hope that you will real soon. Everyone tells me that there is no right or wrong way to do it and it’s a wonderful way to practice new techniques. No matter what kind of mess I make, it’s always so good to look through my journal. Go ahead, try it!
