Thankful Bible Journal Printable

Hello creative friends! I love the fall and especially thanksgiving. This year in October I was in Scotland and missed my favourite Canadian holiday so I will be sure to celebrate American Thanksgiving instead. So glad that this holiday is on a different month in Canada and the US, usually I get to celebrate it twice!! Of course everyday should be Thanksgiving but I do enjoy having this special focus once or twice a year. As I designed this printable I figured there was enough orange and red fall colours going around as far as printables go so here you have a complete different take on Thanksgiving!!

For this page I chose 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God.

Wow, imagine that!! Praise and thanksgiving attracts God’s presence in a powerful way. I don’t know about you but I would love to experience the Lord filling my temple with His glorious presence is such a way that I couldn’t do anything else!

I’m so pleased at how these hearts turned out. I love the messy look but I’m usually nervous about ruining the clean page. For this page I decided to let loose and scribble away. I’m so glad I did and will be doing more of this in the future. All I used was Tombow colouring pencils. So easy!

This year my focus has been a lot on praise and thanksgiving. These two things have immense power. Praise has the power to make the enemy flee like in 2 Chronicles 20:21-24. Praise also has the power to set prisoners free like in Acts 16:25-26. Praise and thanksgiving are great cures for ungratefulness, discontentment, selfishness, envy and much more. Everyday I make it a point to begin my prayer time with praising God. I praise Him for who He is and all the awesome things He has done. In my prayer binder I have written down every praise I could find in Psalms as well as other verses in the bible. It helps to keep my focus on Him instead of just thinking about the needs around me. Thanksgiving is also a daily way in which I communicate with the Lord. When I have a heart full of discontent there is no better way to cure it than to praise God and give Him thanks!!

With November just around the corner, many people are preparing a gratitude journal to write in everyday. Are you planning on making one? I did it last year and I love re-reading it. I’m thinking I will do it again this year. I admit, it took me more than a month to finish the challenge but I did finish it and that is a big bonus for me!
